Embracing and Empowering Employees

Employers often fall short in effectively utilising their employees, a trend I've observed too frequently. Despite the evolving landscape of work, many employers cling to outdated methods, oblivious to the changing dynamics. Personally, my intuitive nature, particularly honed in sales, has enabled me to gauge people accurately, fostering satisfied customers and productive workplaces wherever I go.

My ethos has always centred on fair compensation and providing the autonomy for employees to excel. However, this approach remains unconventional in many workplaces. The current shift in collective consciousness emphasises the need for this paradigm shift, yet some workplaces resist, resulting in disengaged employees who barely meet minimum expectations.

While there are exceptions—individuals intrinsically motivated or driven solely by reward—the reality is that not everyone finds passion in their work and with the right compensation package they too get motivated. Moreover, creatives often face unnecessary barriers imposed by rigid structures, stifling their innovation and potential.

The evolving business landscape demands authenticity and adaptability from employers. It's imperative to hire individuals who align with organisational values and grant them the freedom and resources to thrive. Unfortunately, I recently witnessed a talented employee being let go due the employer failing to understand the unique working style of a creative individual, ultimately resorting to hiring multiple replacements —a scenario where a creative's potential was squandered due to mismanagement.

Creatives thrive on passion, not just monetary compensation. When given autonomy, they pour their heart and soul into their work, often working tirelessly until completion. This level of dedication is invaluable but often overlooked.

In this era of embracing diversity, employers must embrace individuality and empower their workforce. Management is not just about control but about understanding and facilitating the best in people.

Speaking candidly, businesses stand to lose substantially—be it in finances, time, or resources—due to mismanagement of employees. The traditional command-and-control approach is outdated; thriving in today's business landscape demands an embrace of change and a commitment to understanding and meeting employee needs. Whether or not one believes in abstract concepts like energy and vibration, the tangible signs of change are undeniable—employee loyalty and morale are dwindling. It's time for employers to adapt or risk being left behind.
