Living the Dream- Embracing the present mindset.

We now have the opportunity to live our dream, yet our mental attitude or programming often prevents us from fully believing and embracing it. For some of us, anyway.

I've noticed a trend of people actually living the life they wanted, or at least very close to it, yet they can't see or enjoy it because of mental clutter or the belief that life has to be hard to be deserved. There's a need to do more or be more, even when you're actually doing what you love. Because it's not hard, you try to overcomplicate your life.

A woman once said, "I can’t tell others that my life is good because that will be boasting," so she finds bad things to say about her life. I also know a few people who are living the life they've spoken about, yet they find ways to make it harder on themselves, preventing them from fully enjoying or appreciating the life they've created.

I understand that, as humans, we want more once we achieve our goals, and there's nothing wrong with that. But what I'm talking about is the inability to see, appreciate, and enjoy what you've created up to this point. To look back at your life with a new perspective, recognizing where you were and where you are now. To see that you have earned the "easier" life. To understand that whatever choices you made led you to live and do things you enjoy. If it doesn’t seem like work or if it’s easy, you deserve it, and that’s okay.

Life now doesn't necessarily have to be hard. Our main issues now are our mental state. The generation before us did the hard labor; they did the physical work. Now, we don’t have to, and we feel a little lost because we were raised to do what they did. We feel guilty if our day starts at noon and finishes at 5 PM, or even if we get to work nights partying, something we love, and get paid well for it. Worse still, we get paid well just to be ourselves. With these kinds of issues, how do we ever feel like we are doing a real job? I know, I have to find ways to make it harder or keep complaining until it feels real; then I’ll feel worthy of the life I live.

People, let’s get with the new program. In this program, everything and anything goes. You can now be born into money or not, have a degree and just want to clear houses for a living. You can be paid to keep people company while doing things you love. Imagine getting paid to go on holiday and fully enjoy yourself. There are many things people enjoy and can now be paid to do. We just need to learn how to tell our minds it’s okay.

The old programming needs to be updated, and we can do that in the same way we were programmed before: through repetition, affirmation, and allowances. I invite you to drop your preconceived ideas. When you get into your judgmental mode, breathe in and breathe out. Ask yourself what other way there could be. If someone sees it differently or says it differently, there must be something different to see or hear and do. These steps help open and expand our minds a little more, and the more open we can be, the more ease we will have in our lives. Then maybe you can see and enjoy the fact that you are living your dream.
